Dreame Smart Ring Review: A Game-Changer for Smart Rings (2026)

I've just had the chance to test out the Dreame Smart Ring, and it's an impressive piece of technology that surpasses the Oura Ring in several key aspects. Get ready to be amazed by this innovative wearable!

At CES 2026, the Dreame Smart Ring made its debut, joining a wave of exciting new wearables. After getting my hands on a review unit, I'm thrilled to share my findings. This smart ring outshines the Oura Ring 4, the top smart ring of 2026, in three significant ways.

It's been a month since I shared my predictions for smart rings in 2026, and two major trends I highlighted are now a reality. The Dreame Smart Ring incorporates haptic feedback through vibrations and customizable touch controls on the ring's surface. But here's where it gets controversial... is this the future of smart rings, or just a gimmick?

  1. Haptic Alerts: A Game-Changer
The Dreame Smart Ring is the first smart ring I've encountered with an onboard micro-vibration motor for haptic feedback. While other brands like RingConn have announced similar features, Dreame has delivered. Users can set the ring to vibrate gently for alarms, calls, messages, and notifications. I tested this feature and found the haptics to be a pleasant yet powerful wake-up call. However, a potential drawback is the limited app support for haptic alerts, currently only working with WeChat and QQ. Will Dreame expand its compatibility with native iOS messaging? Only time will tell.

  2. Custom Touch Controls: A New Level of Interaction
The Dreame Ring features a tiny touchpad on its side, designed for thumb control (Dreame suggests wearing it on the index finger). This touchpad supports three gesture controls: swipe up/down, double-tap, and long-press. Pairing the ring with my iPhone 16 Plus and setting up the touch controls was surprisingly seamless. Within minutes, I was controlling Spotify on my phone using the ring, starting and stopping songs, skipping tracks, and adjusting the volume. Dreame's touch controls are similar to those of the upcoming Aivela Ring, but Dreame's implementation is more reliable. When I tried the Aivela Ring at CES 2026, its touch functionality was less than impressive.

  3. Comprehensive Health Tracking in a Sleek Package
The Dreame Smart Ring offers health monitoring features similar to the Oura Ring 4, including continuous heart rate tracking, blood oxygen saturation monitoring, heart rate variability insights, sleep analysis, fitness monitoring, and women's health tracking. But Dreame goes a step further by incorporating haptic alerts and custom touch controls into a slimmer design. The space-grade ceramic Dreame Smart Ring is 2.5mm thick, compared to the Oura Ring 4's 2.88mm and the Oura Ring 4 Ceramic's 3.51mm. The size 11 review unit I'm testing weighs 5.38g, slightly heavier than the standard Oura Ring 4 but lighter than the Oura Ring 4 Ceramic. While the accuracy of Dreame's health tracking features remains to be thoroughly tested, the potential for a reliable wellness tracker with haptic and touch capabilities is exciting. If the Dreame Smart Ring delivers on its promises, it could make other health-tracking-only smart rings, including the Oura Ring 4, feel outdated.

Stay tuned for a comprehensive review of the Dreame Smart Ring. In the meantime, explore more smart ring guides and reviews on Tom's Guide to stay informed about the latest wearables. Don't miss out on the opportunity to join the conversation and share your thoughts on this exciting technology!
